Text to Speech: Have your Mac read text back to you. Open your System Preferences, Choose Speech, and select the Text to Speech tab. When the box next to Speak selected text when the key is pressed you can click the Set Key button to choose a keystroke that when clicked will allow the user to read highlighted text. For instance, click Set Key, then choose CMD key + 9 and when these two buttons are pressed, the operating system's voice will read text aloud.
